The New York Giants‘ fears about Malik Nabers’ knee injury have unfortunately come to fruition, and the star wide receiver’s 2025 season is over.
An MRI confirmed that Nabers tore his ACL in the Giants’ Week 4 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers, ESPN reported.
Nabers suffered the injury in the first half when he contested a deep pass from Jaxson Dart, who was making his first NFL start, down the right sideline. Nabers was stopping his sprint down the field and made a play for the ball, but he stayed down and held his right knee.
Nabers remained down for several moments before a cart came on the field to escort him back to the Giants’ locker room.
Nabers had two catches for 20 yards before the injury, and had 18 receptions for 271 yards and two touchdowns in 2025. Last season, Nabers set the NFL rookie record for the most receptions (109) to go with 1,204 receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns.
While Nabers didn’t play the majority of Sunday’s game, the Giants were able to get their first victory of the year. Dart completed 13 of 20 passes for 111 yards and a touchdown to go with 54 rushing yards and a rushing score. But no one in the Giants’ receiving game really stepped up in a major way, with Darius Slayton leading the team in receiving on Sunday with just 44 yards.
Now, the Giants will have to navigate one of the toughest schedules in the NFL without one of the top receivers in the game while sitting at 1-3. They play the Philadelphia Eagles in two of their next four games before taking on the San Francisco Giants, Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions in the coming weeks.
