Amammagarillu Movie Review

Rating :

Naga Shourya, who recently bagged success with Chalo, back again with a family entertainer Amammagarillu. The film has finally hit the big screens today and let\'s check out the review, to know whether it matches the expectations or not.

Cast and crew:

Starring: Naga Shaurya, Shamili, Rao Ramesh

Director: Sundar Surya

Producer: Rajesh

Music Director: Kalyan Koduri

Cinematographer: Rasool Ellore

Editor: J.P

Because of a serious fight between the Ravi Babu (Rao Ramesh) and his brother-in-law (Suman) keeps both the families away for 20 long years. But Suman\'s son Santhosh (Naga Shourya) has a strong connection with his Amamma, Seetha Maha Lakshmi (Sumithra) and waits for the right occasion to visit her house. During the same time, Seetha Maha Lakshmi decides to distribute the property and invites the entire family along with Santosh to her village. As soon as they enter the village, the things have started changing and all the people in the family become close to each other and end things on a happy note. The rest of the story is how Santosh worked hard to make their families together.

Undoubtedly, Naga Shourya is a major asset to this film.  After Chalo, he has improved a lot and showed a lot of maturity in terms of acting. His comedy timing with Shakalaka Shankar one of the biggest advantage to the film.  The scenes between the duo will definitely make the audience laugh hard. Shamili looks decent despite the fact that she stayed away from the cameras for a while. Her energy levels are top notch. Posani gets a small yet crispy role and Rao Ramesh\'s character brings a lot of depth to the film.  His performance completely steals the show as a frustrated son.

The first half looks decent, but the second half will test the patience levels of the audience with its slow narration.  Few emotional sequences are badly written by the makers and the dialogues need to be worked on more. The second half is filled with many unwanted scenes which can be chopped off. The pre-climax seems dull and it might be a bit better.

Technical aspects:

The movie has only two songs and both look good. The montage song that comes in the second half presented well and the BGM is good and they might have focused much on re-recording. The production values are good. Interestingly, the camera work might be better. When coming to the direction, Sundar Surya took a promising story and started off things on the right note, but didn\'t maintain the same pace till end. The emotional scenes might be seen better and there are many unnecessary characters in the story.

Final Verdict:

On the whole, the film is a routine family drama with a few good moments and it will definitely impress the family audience. They will get connected to the emotional drama in it.
